#meatlessmonday Grains & Greens bowl. Kale, roasted sweet potatoes & red onions, rice, lentils, Greek yogurt vinaigrette with tarragon, and our very own, homegrown hot pepper. Cold dinner for a hot night.
How to dessert. Today Amy wanted to bake so we made a strawberry upside down cake and piled on all the fresh berries, whipped cream, and mint. We used a cupcake recipe Amy found @delish, used half of the batter to make cupcakes and the rest for this.

Last week I took a walking graffiti tour of Bushwick, Brooklyn. Other than knowing that “all the artists moved to Bushwick”, I didn’t really know much about the scene. The tour was through freetoursbyfoot.com and the guide, who was a graffiti artist himself, brought us through the neighborhood. He explained the history and beginnings to what is happening today. Graffiti started in the Bronx with tagging and then writing and then fancy writing and then into bubble letters and on and on to elaborate street art. A lot of it is now commissioned for a lot of money. Here is a gallery with a few of my favorite images. Thanks to my friend https://www.instagram.com/wongfeifeinyc/ who is an expert traveler for suggesting this tour. She also happens to live in the neighborhood. You can just walk by this art everyday, or dive a little deeper and learn more about it. I really admire that kind of curiosity and it has inspired me to look into tours in other parts of the city. Plus, it was a great way to shake out my legs after a ride and check out some new cafes. We popped off the tour at one point to grab a coffee at AP Cafe. The coffee was excellent and the food looked really good. Will have to go back there! After the tour we walked over to a neighborhood grocery store Foster Sundry for a snack. I got the best #glutenfree buckwheat cocoa cookie. Looking forward to turning this into a destination run! Hope you enjoy the photos.
