Pre-Race at Ironman Taiwan: Exploring Penghu

Penghu is a group of islands located in the strait between mainland China and Taiwan. Caught this sunset on an easy evening run, when the air cools off slightly.  

The hotel where the athletes are staying has an amazing pool.  That's fellow pro Marino V. taking a dip.

Both Chinese and Western options are available at our hotel and the menu includes athlete standbys like rice and roasted sweet potatoes.

Pumpkin congee isn't something I've had before, but it just might have to become an Athlete Food recipe soon. 

Same goes for the pumpkin noodles below.
