Sheep Milk Yogurt for the Win
Wow! I can't believe I'm about to hit the 24 week mark with baby #3. I've had a few ups (like racing in the New York City Triathlon at 16 weeks) and some downs (like having to get an IV for dehydration), but, all in all, it's been a fun journey so far. I've been able to exercise more than with my first 2 and I've been diligent about eating healthy foods. Helping on that front is that Laurel has been on her pre-Ironman superfood heavy meal plan!
One of the foods we've both become hooked on is Bellwether Farms Sheep Milk Yogurt, made in Sonoma County, California. I discovered it while looking for non-cows milk yogurt options for Des (trying to keep him away from antibiotics and growth hormones). This all-natural Sheep Milk Yogurt is thick and creamy and full of healthy fats because it's made with whole milk. I also find it easy to digest so I've been having a container before swim workouts. And sometimes I'll double up and have more as a post workout snack.
Bellwether Farms also has become part of my favorite healthy dessert: a protein and probiotic boosted fruit salad. See the video below for this Sheep Milk Yogurt Recipe.
Thanks to this creation, you won't see me making late night runs to Shake Shack anytime soon. That's a win!
