Seems like just every other person in the city is walking or running around in day-glo kicks. I am not sure about everywhere else in the world, but they are HOT here in NYC. I have been hit with a slight pang of jealousy every time I see them. So, I was very happy when these appeared on my doorstep yesterday. Two new additions to the shoe closet! One for training: Nike Pegasus 29 (my first pair of running shoes in 9th grade was an early version. Before that I wore "tennis" shoes to run cross country, track and 10ks!). The other pair is for racing: Nike LunarSpeed Lite. Both in "volt" which is the Nike's take on that bright green yellow. How great is that name?
Of course, since I'm adding two pairs of shoes, I have to follow the self-imposed / anti-hoarding rule and will donate two pairs to the Salvos. Bye-bye Livestrong Pegasus that I wore in the Ironman and the sportslick-caked Pink lunaracers that ran me to lots of podiums. Sad to see you go! But even more excited to see where the Volt might take me!
Big thanks to everyone at Nike for keeping me in style and running fast too. Now time to hit the streets and break these in. --Laurel
