Nike Lunar Glide +4 These were the shoe of choice for Bec's husband for his Ironman marathon. He opted for comfort and stability over a racing flat - and if you saw the stairs and hills on the Ironman NYC course you'd understand why. Not only are they functional, but they look great and come in plenty of colors.
Subscription to Triathlete Magazine Keep your guy up to date on the latest in the Triathlon world with a monthly subscription to Triathlete Magazine. It’s the only magazine with several columns written by pro triathletes. It is full of solid training advice for the all triathletes, from the seasoned triathlete to the newbie.
Canon Powershot D20 We can't figure out a way to give the gift of a faster swim split (sorry!), but this underwater camera should help make some improvements. Dunk it into the pool, without any special housing, and within a few minutes your guy will be analyzing his swim stroke in HD Video. It's durable enough to toss into a swim bag with a wet cap and goggles.
Cervelo P5 Guys like to go fast. And with this bike, there is just no other option. This bike was built with precision – I know because I got to chat with the aero-specialist engineers who designed the bike. It’s no wonder that this bike is the ride of choice for many of world’s top cyclists and triathletes.
Entry to the Half Full Triathlon Nothing like having a race on the calendar to fire up the motivation to train. And speaking of motivating, this event is more than just a race, it’s a fundraiser for the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults. The race includes a special survivor category and all of the profits go to the FIGHT against cancer. I could go on and on about this race (my all-time favorite), but need I say more??
Nike GPS Watch Definitely the most stylish running watch we’ve seen. It can be worn to track miles and paces, but also works for casual wear without shouting tri-geek!
Bootcamp Of course, you can't just hop on the new P5 and immediately be Dave Zabriskie or Frederick van Lierde. But, this winter you can push yourself like these athletes do. Lots of guys we know like Barry's Bootcamp's mix of Woodway treadmill intervals and weights. It's a nice compliment their hours swimming, biking and running. Classes are an intense power hour, with several time options before and after work.
Hudson Valley Baby Bourbon Our standard training ride in New Paltz whizzes by Tuthilltown Spirits, home to award winning Hudson Whiskey. The distillery is supportive of the local sporting community, so if you do a local race, chances are you’ll be taking home one of their cute little bottles of whiskey.
