This article from today's New York Times about the McCarren Track in Williamsburg says a lot about what it's like to work out in a city park. One of the things we like best about training in NYC is that no matter what, there's always someone else out there working out. Just when you think you're the toughest one, out for a run in the middle of a snowstorm or in the middle of the night, you come across someone else who's working harder.
Of course, not everyone you come across is training to be a world-class athlete--some are just kicking a soccer ball around with friends or trying to lose a few pounds. But, you can always count on a cheer or two from strangers at the track.
