I’ve been binge watching TV shows all winter – it’s how I survive day after day of indoor bike trainer workouts. It’s all great until you finish a series. Then what? Start something new and leave you’re your favorite characters behind? That was me last month. I had just finished sweating it out on my bike trainer through the entire first season of Orange is the New Black and was hungry for any little tidbit of what was going to come next. Imagine the excitement when the very next day I got an invitation from Netflix to visit to go on set with the Orange cast and crew, watch a scene being filmed and meet some of the actors.

I took the subway out to Astoria, to the studio where the show is filmed and met up with ten other bloggers who were also invited. We were given an extensive tour of the costume shop and set and met Matt McGorry and Dascha Polanco (see above). Matt's an athlete, by the way, and I suggested to him that he might want to do the NYC Tri this year.
We got free reign in the shower scene part of the set, where every last detail was covered, right down to the dirty sinks. I've been in a lot of yucky locker rooms, but this one may have been the dungiest! Good thing it wasn't real.
If you haven't watched Orange is the New Black and have no idea what these pictures are all about, I suggest you get started watching season 1 now. Why? For two reasons: 1) NetFlix just announced SEASON TWO is starting JUNE 6 and 2) there are plenty of bike trainer hours left in the winter.
