Earlier this week, Sarah wrote about her first run after having baby #3. I have yet to go for a run, but I have experienced some firsts of my own this year: seeing what it feels like to be 25 pounds "overweight," having a baby, getting sore after a 45 minute walk...
Yes, you read that correctly. My quads are burning today as if I ran ten miles yesterday, but all I did was walk for 45 minutes on the treadmill. I'm actually happy about it since I didn't expect to be doing any sort of soreness inducing exercise just three weeks after having major surgery. At the two week mark, I was itching to do more than pace around my apartment, but I waited until getting the go ahead from my doctor before heading to the gym. I'm taking things very slowly (18 minute mile pace, to be exact) because I've been warned that too much too soon is not a good thing.
That means I won't be joining Sarah on an runs for another few weeks. Until then, I'm going to keep up the daily routine of fitting in a few walks, taking care of the little one and enjoying all of the firsts that come along with having a newborn.
Amy is lucky to have so many people looking after her and loving her. She's officially the newest Cervelo and Nike sponsored mini triathlete.
